Presented by Artistry on Main, The Art of Pruning by Tom Lynch.

Tom has been pruning for over 40 years as manager of Altmann Orchard in Rock Cave and would like to share his skills with others. Pruning is both a skill and an art. Knowing when and how to prune involves skill. Knowing where to cut for optimum fruitfulness and beauty of a plant is the art. In these classes we will be covering all those necessary skills needed to prune effectively, including choice of tools and sharpening of those tools. Discussions of different types of fruiting trees and shrubs as well as flowering plants and when to prune will be covered.

A short field trip will be planned for some hands-on experience. Morning session (10:00 am) will focus on Pruning flowers and bushes while the afternoon (1:00 pm) session will cover fruit production. You may register for either or both sessions.

One session is $20 while both sessions are $35. Student should bring their pruning tools. To register, visit Artistry on Main on Main Street in Buckhannon, or online at: ArtistryOnMain.com/class-registration
