West Virginia Strawberry Festival
Come to Buckhannon for the 83rd Annual WV Strawberry Festival, held May 10-18, 2025! The Festival kicked off in 1936 as a way to honor our strawberry growers and help them increase sales. The very first Festival was a day-long celebration. As the years passed and its popularity increased, the West Virginia Strawberry Festival grew into the full week of fun that we know it as today! We continue to honor strawberry growers from all over our beautiful state with the Strawberry Auction that is held on the Friday afternoon of Festival Week.
The Festival Experience
The theme this year will be ‘Once Upon a Strawberry’ and we’re envisioning fairytales, princes & princesses, castles, noble steeds and more! We pride our festival in being known as an “Exciting Family Tradition.” For 9 fun-filled days, guests of all ages will enjoy the Strawberry Gift Shop, Multiple Parades, Arts & Craft Show, live entertainment, and food vendors specializing in strawberry treats of all kinds. Oh and don’t forget the carnival!

Keep the sweet celebration going, and join the WVU Upshur County Extension Office for a hands-on Strawberry Jam Canning Class! Learn safe, step-by-step canning techniques while making delicious jam to take home.

Location: WVU Upshur Co Extension Office
Cost: $10 per person

Pre-Registration is OPEN Each paddler must purchase a ticket ($10) which includes insurance coverage through the American Canoe Association. You will recieve a fun comemorative event sticker as part of your registration fee

Canoes, kayaks, ans SUPs all welcome! Leisure paddlers and racers are all welcome! We will give awards to the top 3 finishers in the Big Paddle
