Santa will be visiting some of his friends from Fairyland on Saturday December 9th from 6 to 8 pm on North Kanawha Street in Buckhannon. Families are invited to stop by and visit with them too! Your first visit can be with the man himself, Ole St Nick, or Santa to the youngsters. His mail box will be there too along with a table for you to use to list your Christmas wishes so he won’t forget.
You are welcome to visit Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Hansel and Gretel, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, the Three Little Pigs, Rapunzel, and Little Red Riding Hood. While in Fairyland you will see Sweetalicious the friendly ice cream truck, maybe buy a hot dog from the hot dog cart or have your face painted.
Mom might visit a local artist for a name to be added to a hand made ornament, get some freeze dried or hard tack candies or purchase a special gift for a loved one.
Dad may choose to sit and listen to some holiday music supplied by strolling musicians or gaze upon one of over 150 trees like Dad’s Christmas Garage, Christmas morning breakfast tree , a Tribute to Teacher’s tree, and many others as well as those appearing “au natural”.
Everywhere you look there will be something to see such as Photo Booth for selfies, a game or two and over 50 inflatables – some small and some tall- over 12 feet. Special guests invited that you might see include the Mayor of Buckhannon, City Council members, County Commissioners, and of course those who always keep us safe from harm – our city, county and state police officers, our firefighters, and our emergency service personnel.
We hope you will join us as we celebrate Jesus the one that was born in a manger who brought to us the gifts of love, hope and compassion for our fellow man. This is a free event and our Christmas wish is that you return home with a smile on your face, warm cocoa and cookies in your tummy and thanks in your heart for those gifts given our world.
