Swift & White Water

You wouldn’t expect it, but in the right season, Upshur County’s rivers climb to Class III & Class IV rapids. Enthusiasts take advantage of high water seasons and navigate the spectacular runs of the Buckhannon and Middle Fork rivers. Click HERE for a clip of the Buckhannon River at its best.

Buckhannon River has five locations for white water enthusiasts.

• Tenmile to Sago (5 Miles; Class III-IV)
• Alexander to Tenmile (9.3 Miles; Class I-III)
• Pickens to Alexander (13.7 Miles; Class I-III+)
• Star to Alexander (8.9 Miles; Class II-III)
• Helvetia to Newlonton (7 Miles; Class II-III)

Middle Fork River has two locations

• Audra State Park to Tygart River Confluence (7 Miles; Class III-IV)
• Confluence of Laurel Fork to Audra State Park (5 Miles; Class I-III)

Paradise in the Woods

Paradise in the Woods is a private property with a 3/4 mile long driveway to your own haven in the woods. Our cabin has a game room with a pool table overlooking the beautiful Buckhannon River, surrounded by the forest. There is an easy walking path to a peaceful and secluded swimming area.

Cabin sleeps up to 12 people and is pet friendly for an additional fee.

Welcome to the magical world of needle felting! In this delightful and beginner-friendly class, you will learn the art of transforming fluffy wool into charming, handcrafted decorations. Whether you’re a complete novice or have dabbled in needle felting before, this class offers an excellent opportunity to explore your creativity and create two adorable projects: a felted pumpkin and a felted acorn. Who is this class for?
This class is perfect for beginners of all ages, starting from 12 years old and up. We require younger participants to bring a parent or guardian along for a memorable bonding experience. No prior needle felting experience is necessary – just a willingness to learn and a love for crafting. This class is $40.00

Oren + Folk

Oren + Folk sits on 62 private acres. The barn is located less than 20 minutes from Buckhannon, West Virginia. The 11 acre field can accomodate outdoor ceremonies, yard games, and a bonfire!

Accomodations include tables and chairs for up to 100 people. There are two dressing rooms, two public bathrooms, and one private bathroom connected to a dressing room.
