    Join us for our 8th Annual RiverFest celebration of our water. All activities are FREE

     Date: Saturday, August 24, 2024
     Time: 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM (activities scheduled throughout the day)
     Location: Riverwalk Park Boat Ramp near WV Wesleyan

     10:00 AM Paddlers depart Hampton to Riverwalk (we will provide a shuttle*)
    ☮️ 10:00 AM Water Flow Yoga
     11:00 AM Land Acknowledgment
    Vendors and educational exhibits start
    FREE kayaks & paddle boards available
     Noon Music by Elk River Ramblers
     3:00 PM Interfaith Water Blessing (bring water from your home/local creek)

    *shuttle details for Hampton to Riverwalk Paddle: drop boats off at Hampton between 9-10AM, drive car to Riverwalk, catch shuttle back to Hampton, shuttles departs at 9:30 & 10:15 AM

    September 7th is the Suicide Prevention Walk at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Join our team in making an impact and advocating for Suicide Prevention and mental health.
    There will be a speaker at 4 PM and the walk starts at 5 PM.

    2nd Annual “Dickens of a Ride”

    WHAT: “Dickens of A Ride” Fundraiser for the Upshur County Parish House and WV Dickens Christmas Festival and Faire
    WHEN: Saturday, September 14, 2024 (UPDATED from July 27th)
    WHY: Fundraiser to collect non-perishable food items for Upshur County Parish House and operating cost for WV Dickens Christmas Festival and Faire in December which collects for the Parish House during the event.
    NEED TO KNOW: There will be a silent auction and although we will gladly take your cash donations for purchase of tickets ADDITIONALLY, we will be collecting non-perishable items including food and hygiene items. For EVERY item you bring you will receive “1” ticket to place in any silent auction basket you choose.
    There will be other drawings to participate in as well.
    PLEASE COME AND HAVE A GREAT TIME!

    CONTEST: Decorate your UTV/ATV with the theme and 1 winner will receive $100 Cash! Thanks for participating!

    In an effort to provide a fun and safe trip, please follow the directions below to download a copy of the WV DOH County Route map for “Dickens of a Ride” sponsored by the WV Dickens Christmas Festival and Faire. Due to intermittent phone and internet service throughout the rural mountains, this will allow you to have a handheld map to follow as you travel.
    On any web browser search West Virginia Division of Highways GIS County Maps

    Zoom into Upshur County. You will see two map sheets.
    • Click on Upshur Sheet 2. The map sheet will be highlighted. Open the dropdown box that appears. Options for downloading the map will appear. Save as a PDF on your smart phone in a file that you can locate or take a screen shot.
