Justin Bowers is a leader and thinker committed to helping others willingly engage the tensions surrounding leadership and life. He defines his full-time job(s) as a: Creative Idealist Specializing in Community Redevelopment and Spiritual Discovery. Practically speaking, that means he is found most Sunday mornings serving as the Lead Pastor and Teacher of New Community – a gathering of people learning to follow Jesus beyond Sundays.. However, he also works as the Director and Lead Facilitator of Intensional Coaching & Consulting and the Founder of Appalachian Impact.

As much as he can, he sneaks away from work to run the mountains of West Virginia or enjoy life with his wife Carrie and three daughters. Currently, Justin is in the final stages of finishing his Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University.

So there’s this thing about living life that everybody seems okay with today. It’s basically a residual effect that the majority of humans in North America seem to have settled into.

It’s a life that gets bored…

Not bored for an hour or so.
Bored for good.

Like, we take a job because it pays well and then eventually we find the same job miserable and meaningless and monotonous. Bored.

Or, we fall in love with the most amazing person and experience the wedding of our dreams only to find a few years later that our best years may be behind us. Bored.

The thing about boredom is it’s not how we are meant to live. We are meant for adventure. Designed for risk. Hard-wired for something better.

Better Stories is a new series of live events, talks, interviews, and experiences all crafted into a podcast designed for a revolution against the boredom that too often overshadows our humanity.

Join us for the first ever Better Stories event on Friday, October 20th from 6 – 8 pm at McNemar House in Buckhannon, WV. Bring a snack to share and we’ll provide the drinks.
