Buckhannon Community Theatre takes you back in time: It’s the tail end of the big, bad 80s in Hollywood, California and the party has been raging hard; but for some, it seems like it may be the end of the line. Aquanet, Spandex, lace, and liquor flow freely at one of the Sunset Strips last legendary venues, The Bourbon Room; a place where sex-machine and rock god, Stacee Jaxx, takes the stage while scantily clad groupies line up to turn their rock and roll fantasies into reality. Amidst the madness, aspiring rock star (and resident toilet cleaner), Drew Boley, longs to take the stage as the next big thing. Suddenly into Drew’s life comes a smalltown girl with Hollywood stars in her eyes, Sherri Christian, fresh of the bus from Kansas. But the rock and roll fairy-tale is on the verge of ending when German developers sweep into town with plans to turn the fabled Sunset Strip into just another capitalist strip mall. Can Drew, Sherri, and the gang save the strip and themselves before it’s too late? Only the music of epic arena rock bands Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, and more hold the answer.

Playing Thursday – Saturday, July 26th, 27th, and 28th from 7:00 to 9:30 pm and Sunday, July 29th from 2:00 to 4:30 pm at the Virginia Thomas Law Center for Performing Arts on West Virginia Wesleyan College’s campus in Buckhannon.
