Summer is finally ‘official’ with the kick-off of Festival Fridays in Buckhannon! Now in its 8th season, Festival Fridays has become a much anticipated event to help jump start summer weekends.

Festival Fridays will happen each & every Friday starting May 31st – August 23rd, from 5 PM – 8:30 PM. Locals and visitors come to Jawbone Park to pick their spot on the lawn with their chairs or blankets and listen to the live music, browse the vendor booths and enjoy the warm, community atmosphere. This has quickly become an all-time favorite of Buckhannon’s special events. Folks are always eager to see the band line-up (see below) while grabbing some fresh produce from local farmers. Artists and local businesses display and sell their craft. Lawn games are rolled out to keep the kids entertained. There’s always a variety of food options for dinner or snacks.

But aside from all of the amazing things offered at Festival Fridays, the single most remarkable part of the weekly festival is community. People gather Friday evenings – getting away from their rushed lives and taking time to sit outdoors and talk with one another. It’s a special type of connection, and something that makes Buckhannon a special type of town.
