Life As a Wesleyan Student

My name is Brooke Hamrick and I am a current Sophomore Service Scholar at West Virginia Wesleyan College, and my service site is the Upshur County Visitors Center. WVWC has felt like home to me since I first visited the campus. I truly felt welcomed home by this community and still do to this day. One of my favorite things about Wesleyan is how pretty the campus looks when the seasons change.

West Virginia Wesleyan College is one of Upshur County’s biggest attractions. Students from all over the world have come to further their education at WVWC over the years. Bobcat Entertainment is always planning fun activities for their students to do. From things like the famous Big Bingo Event to Tye Dying T-shirts in the Oval, WVWC will have something fun for everyone to be a part of!

One of my favorite events I have attended is bowling with my friends at Woody’s Bowling Center. Whenever the weather is warm, I love bringing a blanket and some snacks and sitting on the Chapel Lawn with my friends while talking or doing homework. Wesleyan has a beautiful campus with benches and tables for students to sit at and take in all the pretty views while eating with friends or catching up on homework.

Wesleyan opens their doors to everyone and allows a safe and comfortable environment for their students. My college experience here to this point has been exciting, adventurous, and challenging. Wesleyan has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and focus on my personal growth. The professors have the student’s best interest at heart and will always be around to help you with any decision you face. West Virginia Wesleyan College shows me every day why I chose to be a Bobcat.
