Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall

Get an overview of what Buckhannon has to offer in 2020! Pick your season, then pack your bags for a weekend trip of creating memories and new experiences.

WINTER
Take part in special events like the annual Groundhog Festival in Rock Cave, an Adult Spelling Bee, the burning of Old Man Winter and more! We also suggest trying some of Buckhannon’s BEST local restaurants to keep warm – our downtown is known for a growing variety of food options!

SPRING
Warming weather will draw people outside for events like the Maple Syrup Festival or annual Ramp Dinners. Area artists demonstrate their work at the Spring Into Art show, while the 79th Annual West Virginia Strawberry Festival has bragging rights for being one of the oldest festivals in West Virginia!

SUMMER
Buckhannon kicks off summer (and each weekend of the summer) right with Festival Fridays – Live music, food, children’s activities, art & craft vendors and more.
Camping season is in full swing at Audra State Park or James W. Curry Park and the Buckhannon River is busy with kayak paddlers. Everyone loves to stop by the pick-your-own Blueberry Farm in June, too.

FALL
The WV Wildlife Center will take you on a special tour to see the native West Virginia animals on their annual Fall Hayrides! There’s no better way to see the fall leaves than a drive through the West Virginia hills. Base a trip in Buckhannon, and drive around to see other cool towns like Webster Springs, Pickens, Philippi, Davis and more!
