Distance Yourself

The trending words are ‘social distancing’….. And that sounds nice until it’s Day #3 and you feel like you’re running out of things to do! Kids get restless, adults get impatient and everyone wants to do something. Thankfully we’re nearly into Spring and the temperatures are gradually warmer. We’ve compiled a list of ideas that adults & kids alike will enjoy!

Geocaching for hidden treasures throughout Buckhannon & Upshur County is a great way to be outside, explore the area and see new sites!

Not only can you see West Virginia’s native animals like mountain lions, coyotes and river otters along a paved path at the WV Wildlife Center, this site also has the Old Oak Trail for the pubic to enjoy the beauty of the woods. Other trails & walkways are open for all to use. Dress for the day’s weather and try the Riverwalk, Upshur County Trails, Alum Cave Trail at Audra State Park or even a walk through your backyard!

Local Restaurants are offering pick-up orders and curb side pick-up, while downtown Shops largely remain open!

For some added culture, a walk through Trader’s Alley will reveal a variety of pubic art displays! Trader’s Alley is right off Main Street in Buckhannon; Make a loop and see the Spring Flowers popping up along Main Street and throughout Jawbone Park.

There’s even more… And our office is here to help! Reach out to our staff at any time for information or other ideas.
